Alongside You is a health and wellness center in Ladner. What exactly is a health and wellness center you ask? They focus on taking care of all parts of the human body, from the physical to the psychological. A truly healthy individual has a healthy body and a healthy mind and this is the goal of Alongside You. At just over one year old they are one of the newer businesses in the Ladner Business Association.
Andrew and Meg Neufeld have been South Delta residents since 2006. They have embraced the local community since then, involving themselves in many local causes and being involved in a number of local organizations over the last decade. Andrew, a Registered Clinical Counsellor, and Meg, a Cultural Anthropologist and artist, have loved working and living in this community, and have wanted to do something local to make a difference in the lives of fellow residents. Andrew has a long history of working all over the Greater Vancouver area in various mental health settings and in his own private practice. Meg Neufeld has taught at UBC and Douglas College as an anthropologist.
Until 2011, this was their life; but, in November of 2011 everything changed. Andrew and Meg were involved in a car accident that ended Meg’s teaching career. She spent the next 6 months essentially on bed rest in a great deal of pain, as well as dealing with cognitive issues and other neurological challenges. Andrew took a job closer to home with Delta Mental Health, and subsequently White Rock Mental Health as his other job was in North Burnaby. Moving to White Rock Mental Health allowed him to increase his time in his private practice in Ladner, but also gave him more flexibility to be at home more for Meg and the kids.
Fast forward to April 2015, and Meg was starting to improve and Andrew was becoming disillusioned with his role in the health authorities. He had a growing desire to impact the local community in ways he couldn’t in his job at the time. Both Andrew and Meg dreamed of opening an integrated health centre to serve the residents of South Delta, but had not been able to until now. So, the decision was made and Alongside You was born. Meg and Andrew are thrilled to be a part of the Ladner Business Association and local community, along with their two daughters, Emily and Ava who you may just see helping out at the clinic if you come for a visit! Make sure the next time you visit you say Hi to two of the nicest people you will ever meet!

Alongside You’s goal is to ensure that all of their clients feel at home, at peace, and safe in their space and they have gone to great lengths to do everything we can to ensure this happens. They locally source their coffee and teas from Stir Coffee House in Ladner, helping to promote business within the community. Alongside You believes in giving back and supporting the community that has supported them.
