About the Owner:
Jeannette McLaren has lived in Ladner for 23 years, having moved to the community from White Rock when she was the manager of Precision Optical in Tsawwassen. She has been active in participating and supporting local sports clubs as her son moved through his elementary and high school sporting activities with the South Delta Rams and the Delta Islanders Lacrosse Clubs. In 2002 she had an opportunity to purchase Robertson Optical and has been the owner for the last 14 years. In 2008, the business added the services of an optometrist, and has since become Robertson Optical & Optometry.
Jeannette grew up in rural Alberta, and earned a B Ed. From the University of Calgary and spent four years teaching high school English and Social Studies. Wanting to take a break from teaching after four years, she agreed to help a friend for the summer in an optical store in Calgary and she found an opportunity and a challenge in the field of optics. She relocated to Vancouver with her new husband in 1984 and became an optician and contact lens fitter. She has been passionate about helping people and optics for the last 30+ years.
When Jeannette is not taking care of people’s vision needs you can find her reading, out in her garden, skiing, cycling and going to the gym. Next time you see Jeanette around town make sure to say hi to one of the friendliest people you will ever meet!
Take a look at these awesome reviews that customers have left that show just how Jeanette and team will go above and beyond when it comes to their customers.
“I dropped my three-month old ray ban sunglasses on the pavement ruining the lenses. The fit was all messed up and I thought my sunglasses were dead. Thank goodness for the lovely and talented Jeanette, who not only found me new lenses, but also fixed the fit of the glasses perfectly. I cannot thank you enough for all of your help! Go here, buy things, keep them in business!”

“I am both impressed & very grateful for Robertson Optical & Optometry. My 3 year old recently broke the frame of my glasses and it was beyond repairable state. I was devastated as I wear these glasses all the time & they are my only pair too. Without my glasses, I would not be able to drive or read. It was a huge inconvenience. I went in the store desperately for help and their eye specialist Jeanette was so incredibly helpful. She immediately called the supplier for my frames and ask if a replacement pair is available. Then she proceed to find another similar pair of frames in the store, took it apart to replace the broken leg of my existing glass frame, so I can wear my glasses again as a temporary solution until my replacement frames arrive. I never would have thought this is possible, but Robertson Optical went out of their way to ensure I can carry on my day without any further inconvenience. They are knowledgeable, professional & very attentive. Again, I am very grateful for their help and I highly recommend them!!!! A huge THANK YOU to Robertson Optical!”
